Obedience issue boston terrier?

Your wife should work on obedience with the dog outside of your presence, and she should quit giving him treats and affection for doing nothing. If he wants pets, she should ask him to do something first (like sit, down, stay, roll over, etc). Same with treats, his meals, etc. The affection or treat is the reward for his obedience. Why should he obey her if he's going to get treats and attention even if he ignores her completely?
